Master Your Palette: A Color Mixing Workshop

with instructor Leslie Larson

Join artist, Leslie Larson, for a two-day workshop where she will cover the fundamentals of color theory and guide you through the color mixing process. Participants will be given the opportunity to explore the nuances of color and learn to mix up a color palette under the instruction of an artist with years of experience in color mixing.

The workshop will consist of sessions over the course of a two day period:

• Day 1: Most of the day will be instructional with several hands-on exercises. Leslie will walk the students through a quick painting project that will be finished during the second day.
• Day 2: Participants will finish their projects from the first day. They will then be given the chance to apply other techniques they learned. Leslie will also demonstrate how to mix various hues using a limited palette. Participants will create another project using the colors they mix up that day.

Color exploration and experimentation are encouraged during this two-day workshop.

Use of all color mixing supplies will be provided in the cost of the workshop. Leslie will also provide light refreshments for the event.

*Participants should bring a notebook or sketchpad, a pencil, and a photo reference that includes several colors (We will mix up the colors during the workshop and use them for an abstract piece).

Attendees will learn color mixing techniques, how to use a palette knife, color terminology/color theory, paint application and manipulation.

Included in the price of the Full Workshop are all essential painting supplies and substrate for painting.

Students will be responsible for providing the following items:

• Notebook or sketch pad
• Pen/Pencil
• Photo reference of their choice
