Steven’s commercial work led him into documentary filmmaking. He has produced three impactful documentaries: The Southside Project (2022), focusing on the Southside minority neighborhood in Valdosta; Below the Line (2023), addressing homelessness in the area; and The Reformation Project (2023), which highlights the struggles faced by incarcerated individuals and their families, along with broader issues in the criminal justice system.

He served as an instructor at the Philanthro Films camp through South Georgia Film Studios and has mentored numerous Mass Media and photography interns from Lowndes High School, Valdosta State University, and Wiregrass Georgia Technical College—many of whom now work in the film industry.

Steven currently offers private film development instruction and teaches at The Turner Center for the Arts in Valdosta, Georgia.

In October, he will be working with us to have a Filmography workshop. More details below!
