AMARU’S JOURNEY READING
with Dr. Lilia Lizama
September 20, 2025
5:00 – 7:00 pm
The Syd Blackmarr Arts Center

On Saturday, September 20th, the Tifton Council for the Arts is excited to welcome Dr. Lilia Lizama for a special celebration of kids’ creativity! This event will showcase the amazing artwork of students from the Migrant Education Program’s summer school. Visitors will enjoy colorful panels and tables filled with the students’ own creations- art that shines with their identity, heritage, and imagination.

Families will also get to experience Amaru’s Odyssey, brought to life through big, bold posters and an interactive public reading of its script. Together, we’ll follow Amaru’s exciting journey and discover what it means to explore new worlds.

This will be a lively, family-friendly space filled with fun, curiosity, and connection. Kids can ask questions, share ideas, and see how culture and education can spark the imagination of the next generation.

This event will be held at the Syd Blackmarr Arts Center located at 255 Love Ave
