OPEN CALL FOR AUTHORS

The Tifton Council for the Arts is organizing an Author’s Row for the Books on the Block festival, and we are seeking talented and enthusiastic authors specializing in children’s or young adult literature to join us in celebrating the joy of reading. Since the library will providing interactive experiences for children featuring famous characters from books like Anne of Green Gables or Harry Potter, we are encouraging our participating authors to dress up as well! Authors will have a designated area in which to display their books and interact with the families in attendance. Authors will be responsible for providing their own table, chair, and decorations. Since this event is geared towards kids, Children’s book and YA authors are strongly encouraged to participate, although all authors are welcome!

Authors who participate are agreeing to the following guidelines:

  • Promote books suitable for various age groups (from toddlers to pre-teens).
  • Interact with children of all ages and offer book signings upon request.
  • Provide own table, chair, and decorations for duration of event
  • *Dress up as a character from your story, or bring a costumed helper (optional)

Please note: This is a family-friendly festival. Any author who’s content is deemed inappropriate for children will be barred from entry.
