The Tifton Council for the Arts seeks a full time Executive Director

Located in Tifton Georgia, the Council works to make the arts available, affordable, and accessible to all.  Exhibits and education programing form the foundation of the Council’s work. The organization is seeking to grow it’s impact on the community by increasing visibility of the arts and reaching an ever increasing number of Tifton-Tift County residents.

 

Desired Qualities of a Successful Candidate

  • Proven executive management and leadership experience.
  • Must be able to demonstrate strong visionary and entrepreneurial skills.
  • Successful fundraising and/or business development experience. including grants writing and management.
  • Outgoing personality with strong relationship and community building skills.
  • Effective internal and external communication skills, including some marketing and public relations experience.
  • Experience with event management.
  • Effective administrative and office management experience with staff oversite.
  • Budgeting experience
  • Demonstrated experience working with a non-profit Board of Directors
  • Background in the Arts a plus

 

Job Responsibilities

The Executive Director is responsible for the implementation of the strategic plan, policy and procedures approved by the Board of Directors.  This is a full-time exempt position with hours occasionally outside standard business hours.

  • Carry out the board vision by implementing all programing.
  • Work with a broad set of committees to foster volunteer collaboration in building the organization.
  • Report to the board all pertinent information relating to the management, growth and financial health of the organization. Work closely with the board president.
  • Mentor and manage staff in an effective manner.
  • Be a leader in the community as an ambassador for the organization, strengthening relationships.
  • Identify funding sources, write and administer all grants.
  • Spearhead fundraising efforts with annual gala planning
  • Lead the organization and implementation of an annual arts festival.
