COLORED PENCIL WORKSHOP

Join award winning artist, Anda Chance, for her unique class dedicated to exploring the world of colored pencils, where participants will delve into essential art principles such as value and contrast (hard vs. soft). Learn techniques for working with colored pencils, including how to handle common mistakes and make corrections. This interactive session encourages active participation, allowing attendees to share their own art experiences and gain insights from the instructor’s extensive expertise.

Included in the price of the class are the following essential items provided by the instructor:

  • Line Drawing
  • Reference Photo
  • List of materials and instructions
  • Stonehenge HP 140lb paper to transfer your drawing
  • One piece of graphite transfer paper
  • One small piece of Stonehenge drawing paper for creating color swatches

Students will be responsible for providing the following items:

  • Assorted erasers ( kneaded eraser or Sticky Putty and Tombo in assorted sizes are recommended)
  • Swiffer Duster (non-scented)
  • Straight Edge
  • Mechanical pencil
  • Eraser Shield
  • Electric sharpener if you have one (can be shared with your table partner)
  • Table light if you need one
  • 3M Magic Tape (can be shared with your table partner)
  • Drawing board or smooth surface to place under your drawing paper (the worktable surface may be bumpy)
  • Colored pencils, 24-48 starter set

Instructor recommended brands: Prismacolor, Derwent, Faber Castell, Holbein, Caran D Ache, Polychromos

*To ensure the best experience in the class, please avoid purchasing Rose Art, Crayola, or any set of pencils of unknown brand from the internet – these brands will yield disappointing results.
