To ensure a professional, consistent, and safe exhibition environment, all participating artists must adhere to the following guidelines.
Artwork Size, Weight, and Format Requirements
- All hanging artwork must measure no smaller than 5″ x 7″ (image size, not including frame) and no larger than 70” W x 70” H including frame.
- Artwork must not exceed 50 pounds in total weight.
- Two-dimensional framed artwork must be wired and ready to hang. Sawtooth hangers will not be accepted.
- Lightweight or small canvas or matted pieces may be submitted without a frame, provided the artist consents to the use of Velcro or tacks for display (to be supplied by the Tifton Council for the Arts).
Presentation & Display Expectations
- Artwork must be presented in a clean, professional, exhibition-ready condition.
- All pieces must be labeled on the back with: artist name, title, medium, dimensions, and price (if applicable).
- The work you submit may not be older than 3 years.
Content, Appropriateness, and Exhibitor Rights
- The Exhibits Committee reserves the right to reject any artwork on site that is damaged, unsafe, or inappropriate for a family-friendly, community-wide event.
- Artists must guarantee that all submitted work is their original creation and does not infringe on copyright or intellectual property.
Sales & Commission
- All exhibition sales will be processed through the Tifton Council for the Arts.
- A 70/30 commission split applies to all work sold, with 70 percent of the sale price paid to the artist and 30 percent retained by Tifton Council for the Arts to support programming and operations.
- Artists must be responsible for regularly checking email for notifications about sales, payments, and required actions.
- Some exhibits may be exempt from this rule.
Communication & Scheduling Responsibilities
- Artists are responsible for reading all artist calls, contracts, and notices carefully for delivery, pickup, and deadline information.
- Artists must honor all required drop-off and pickup dates.
Liability
- Tifton Council for the Arts carries fine art insurance, which applies only in the event of damage or loss occurring while artwork is installed or stored on-site under TCA care, subject to the terms and limits of the policy.
