Next Level Knitting
Description: Take your knitting to the next level by knitting a sampler scarf or bring in your own projects for assistance. Sampler pattern will include how to purl, increase, decrease, and make yarn overs to produce a variety of stitch patterns. Reading patterns and understanding abbreviations will be covered. Need help with a current project? Bring the project and pattern in for problem solving.
Prerequisites: Students must be able to cast on and create a knit stitch
Supplies:
- 1 ball of solid smooth worsted weight yarn. This is often labeled as size 4. If you want to make a long scarf, 2 balls are recommended.
- Cotton yarn is not recommended for this project.
- size 7 or 8 needles
Optional supplies:
- Stitch markers, locking suggested
- Scissors for cutting yarn
- Crochet hook
- Yarn needle for finishing ends
Optional pre-class work: to maximize class time, cast on 24 stitches and knit 8 rows.

- Mondays: April 3, 10, 17, 24
- Time: 6:00 – 7:30 pm
- Location: Rec Center Classrooms (202 Baldwin Dr)
- Age: 16+
- Class Fee: $30 per month or $10 per class
- Maximum Students: 12
- Pre-registration is recommended, but drop-ins are also accepted for this class. If you drop-in please bring cash or check with you to class.
This class will be held at the Tift County Recreation Center Special Purposes Building located at 202 Baldwin Drive
