Live at the Syd events include musical performances, live art demonstrations, and interactive programming with an emphasis on community engagement, and a celebration of the arts.

“Flicks and a Fiddle”
Join us at the Syd Blackmarr Arts Center where our spacious gallery will serve as the venue for an evening of artistic immersion and cultural celebration featuring films directed by Joseph Talerico, music by violinist Kelby Clark, interpretive plein air art by fine artist Joy Matthews, and the unique viewing experience of motiograph filmography.
Our audience will enjoy a silent film projected by an authentic antique motiograph while Kelby Clark fills the space with soulful music as he plays his violin to accompany the film. During the film, fine artist, Joy Matthews, will translate the emotion of the evening onto her canvas, painting en plein air to the movements of the music.
This will be a night of enchanting ambiance—an immersive experience where art becomes more than just a visual medium –it becomes a shared journey of exploration and expression, uniting individuals from all walks of life in a celebration of creativity and community.
